Shaking program Bijlsma grading machine can be optimally adjusted for each variety

Adjustable shaking intensity

No potato (variety) is the same and Bijlsma Hercules takes this into account. They allow the user to electronically control the shaking intensity and speed on the new BSM 2113/4 grading machine. The shaking speeds and the duration can be set independently of each other. “This allows the potato grower to set and store the optimum shaking frequency for each variety to be sorted, fully geared to the tuber characteristics of the batch,” says Jan Bijlsma.

Grading machine drive

The grading machine is driven by a three-phase motor equipped with a frequency converter and an electronic controller. This drive ensures that the screening boxes with removable screens make alternating movements. During the high shaking speed, the product will be transported over the sieves, while at the slow shaking speed the product will have the opportunity to fall through the sieves. With the stop option, the movement is briefly stopped. In this way an optimal separation can be made in the product.
