Recently delivered sorting line with optical sorting machine

Bijlsma Hercules, in collaboration with GeJo (smart grader) from Luttelgeest, has delivered a grading line with an optical grading machine to Scotland. The test run has now taken place, below are some images.

Bijlsma Hercules, in collaboration with GeJo Grading Services, has sold the first large-scale project in Scotland in which the optical grading machine from Gejo Grading Services will be implemented in a new Bijlsma Hercules grading line.

With this optical grading machine, potatoes can be sorted based on multiple criteria such as square size, shape, volume and quality. Clods, stones and reading waste can also be separated from the product flow. The sold installation will be equipped with a large storage bunker of 30 tons. The product is sorted with two optical grading machines, each equipped with 4 lanes (SG808), with a capacity of approximately 10 tons / hour. After grading, the different grading sizes are collected in 6 bunker sections of 6.5 tons each. These grading sizes can be tapped from all bunkers to various box and big / bag filling machines or to a palletising line. It is important that the potatoes are delivered clean to the optical grading machines, which is why extra attention has been paid to the optimal cleaning of the potatoes with a roller cleaner, leaf separator and a brushing machine.

Given the many requests and quotations that are in progress, this is a great first step towards a successful collaboration between the two companies. The grading accuracy, labor savings and the ability to sort crops and unwashed products in particular are major advantages that accelerate the demand for these machines. In addition to potatoes, the basic machine is also suitable for the external grading of onions.

With this development, Bijlsma Hercules has an extensive range of grading lines that can be fully tailored to your business situation. Are you curious about which grading method is most suitable for your company and whether optical grading could be an interesting step for you?
